Olga and Timur’s family and friends gathered together on a sunny Friday in September to celebrate their wedding. There seems to be a huge increase of Friday weddings this year — nothing wrong with that!
This was the first time that I had been a part of a traditional Russian Orthodox ceremony, so that was exciting! There wasn’t a word of English spoken all ceremony long and my knowledge of the Russian language is a little rusty (okay, it’s non-existent). It was an intimate ceremony attended by their closest loved ones in a beautifully ornamented church filled with painted murals and details of gold. Olga and Timur kept sneaking little peeks at each other complete with cheek-to-cheek smiles!
Their reception was held at the Eagles Nest Golf Club where everyone enjoyed the great scenic views, the tasty hors d’oeuvres, and an energetic live band kept us all jamming and dancing all night long! The newly married couple ended up playing a simple trivia game where Olga had to leave the room, Timur was asked a few questions, and provided some great answers. Olga was asked the same questions and provided the exact, perfect, word-for-word answers every single time! She was on fire! I couldn’t believe it! No way! Who knew that “love handles” could be such a lovable body part ;) Congratulations, Olga and Timur! Thanks to Joee Wong for inviting me out to be part of the team.
