I met Johnny and Sophia at a Starbucks one afternoon before they even got engaged!
That began quite an elaborate story. Johnny wanted to propose (on a number of occasions), but he wasn’t allowed to! It wasn’t because Sophia’s parents disapproved, it was just a function of Chinese tradition and having to let time play out. Apparently you’re not allowed to have too many ‘happy’ events going on at the same time. Obviously, you can imagine Johnny’s disappointment, wanting to propose, but being told to wait a few more months! Sophia knew that he was going to ask the question eventually anyways!
When they finally got officially engaged, Sophia proudly proclaimed to the world: “… [Johnny] liked it and he put a ring on it! oh oh oh….”! Knowing them, they probably celebrated by watching more UFC matches.
Sophia is actually more used to being behind a camera than in front of a camera herself. She’s a camera operator assistant who is even credited on IMDb (Internet Movie Database)! She’s even currently working on a film featuring Vivica A. Fox. Too cool for school!
Johnny’s working on completing his Masters of Divinity at Tyndale University College and Seminary to become a pastor — can you believe it? You quickly realize that he’s a fun-loving and super wacky dude who loves Sophia oh so very much. Plus, you will have a hard time ousting him as mayor at a lot of places according to foursquare!
Sophia and Johnny also have their own special place in Toronto, Manpuku, that they go to for Japanese Udon. They usually go there 3 times a week! They’ve definitely already memorized the menu. Plus, they personally claim that it’s Toronto’s best udon place. When in doubt, you’ll probably find them there, so after starting at Kensington Market, we had to include Manpuku in their engagement session!

[...] was very much a reflection of their whacky, fun-loving personalities. (Just take a look at their engagement session!) For example, they really wanted to have fun, chilling out with their wedding party at a local [...]
