A surprising number of my wedding couples and families are from out-of-town and even from out-of-the-country. It’s a huge honour that they would travel so far and choose to spend some of their limited vacation time with me!
As we planned the session long-distance over email, mommy expressed some valid concerns of trying to ensure that her “terrible two” “drama queen” would cooperate. I recommended that she pick a favourite toy or stuffed animal that they wouldn’t mind being incorporated into the session (in case we need to utilize it). So, Winnie the Pooh came along and their daughter had a blast taking her precious bear on a new adventure! Plus, mom and dad knew that she loved blowing and popping bubbles, so they brought that too! Grandma tagged along as well, spoiling her with lots of laughs and giggles :)
Parents often feel that their newborns and infants aren’t quite photo or camera ready because of cradle cap, acne, or eczema, but I encourage them to embrace it, and include those “blemishes” in the photographs as well! In a few short months, baby will grow out of it all by themselves; the time will have flown by and they will have changed and grown so much that you’ll forget how small they were. Those quickly fleeting moments have gone, so don’t delay! Plus, when you look back on those photos, you’ll be reminded about how you had tried every single cream, ointment, and remedy out there to try and get rid of their eczema!
