There’s something magical about surprise wedding proposals, especially when they’re tied to special places and memories. That’s exactly what happened when Derek decided to pop the question to Summer at Bar Volo in downtown Toronto, a cozy spot where they had their very first date 3 years ago.
Derek planned the proposal with thoughtfulness and heart. He invited Summer back to Bar Volo for what she thought would be a casual get-together of drinks and snacks, reliving memories of their first date. Little did she know, a life-changing moment was about to unfold. After enjoying their time inside, they stepped outside together. As Summer followed, she was met with the sight of Derek on one knee, holding out a ring and asking the biggest question of his life. The look of surprise and joy on Summer’s face was priceless — and of course, she said yes! It was the perfect moment, filled with love, nostalgia, and excitement.
After the big “Yes!”, we headed over to Archive Studios, a stunning natural light photography studio in downtown Toronto, to capture the joy of their engagement. The studio’s architectural and warm atmosphere made it the ideal setting for Derek and Summer to warm up, embrace one another, and let their love shine through in every photo. The soft, natural window light along with the studio’s curated furniture and decor added a touch of elegance and romance to their portraits, making each shot feel intimate and authentic. Archive Studios’ stylish vibe was the perfect location to capture their connection and joy – we created memories they’ll cherish forever.
