Agnes and Nathaniel had their first date while at Queen’s University. Nate had prepared a playlist of songs and brought a set of earphones for them to listen to music together. In the evening, at the top of a hill with a scenic view, under a street lamp, they danced together. Super romantic!

Fast forward 5 years later, Nate took Agnes out to dinner at one of Kingston’s finest restaurants to celebrate her belated birthday. A friend messaged Nate to ask if they could grab something important from campus on his behalf, so they both returned to campus together. When they get there, Agnes jumps out of the car, walks up the stairs, grabs the door handles to the building, but realizes that it’s locked. Nate holds her by the shoulders, turns her around, and she suddenly realizes what is about to happen!

They go for a walk, returning to the same spot where they danced together on their first date. Nate had written a poem for her, he got down on one knee, and she said, “Yes!” filled with tears of joy :)
