As a wedding photographer, there are some weddings that just leave your heart full — Mary and Andy’s beautiful celebration was exactly that! From the emotional wedding ceremony at Cornerstone Chinese Alliance Church in Markham, Ontario, to golden hour portraits at Paradise Banquet Hall in Vaughan, their day was filled with beauty, emotion, and unforgettable moments.
Mary and Andy’s wedding ceremony was more than just a formal exchange of vows — it was a deep and rich celebration of their love and faith. Held at Cornerstone Chinese Alliance Church in Markham, Ontario, the ceremony was also filled with passionate music that echoed through the sanctuary’s majestic wooden vaulted cathedral ceilings. Everyone gathered lifted their voices and sang together in unity with praise and joyful reverence.
The forecast had called for cold and rainy weather—but just as we wrapped up the ceremony, the skies cleared and the temperature warmed up, giving us the perfect opportunity for portraits outside. We headed over to a quiet walking trail path near Main Street Unionville and made full use of the charming wooden boardwalk and bridge. Just in case the cold and rain stuck around, we had previously reserved Espace Studio in Richmond Hill as a backup for their creative portrait session — and we’re so glad we did! The space featured a gorgeous floral arch, which created a gorgeous romantic backdrop for their portraits.
The celebration continued at Paradise Banquet Hall in Vaughan, where guests were treated to a night filled with some truly original entertainment. Instead of a traditional first dance, Mary and Andy surprised everyone by writing and performing their own original song! They also kicked off the dance floor with a karaoke party! Guests took turns selecting songs, singing their hearts out, and getting everyone else to join in — complete with phone flashlights waving in the air.
As the sun began to set, I snuck Mary and Andy outside for some stunning golden hour portraits. The venue’s scenic bridge, gazebo, and park area created a dreamy atmosphere as the warm light bathed the couple in a golden glow which allowed us to create some peaceful and romantic images together!
Mary and Andy’s wedding was a celebration of love, creativity, and community. From a gorgeous church ceremony in Markham, fun photo sessions in Unionville and Richmond Hill, to a one-of-a-kind karaoke dance party at Paradise Banquet Hall, every part of the day was memorable and meaningful.
