Jackie and Justin met each other through their local church. For years, Justin was in charge of the audio-visual technology there: recruiting, scheduling, and training volunteers to effectively utilize the different pieces of equipment throughout the church.

Jackie was the newest recruit to the team and Justin’s first instruction to her was, “Don’t fall for me.” And she responded, “Okay, I won’t!” (Which I think is an absolutely hilarious way to begin any relationship!)

About a year later, on Christmas Day, Jackie’s family was invited over to Justin’s family’s home for dinner together. Once they entered the house, Jackie’s parents quickly took off their winter jackets and hid in one of rooms beside the kitchen. Well, isn’t that strange?

Justin presented her with 2 meaningful gifts and a special engagement ring (I love it when people choose something different from the norm)! She said “Yes!”, but was distracted the whole time by all the other family members in the next room taking photos and videos with their phones. Regardless, it was still the perfect Christmas present!
