Cindy and Matthew both met each other at Western University (previously known as The University of Western Ontario many, many, many years ago when I was there), but it definitely wasn’t “love at first sight” for them. After they graduated, they both went to the University of Toronto to continue their post-graduate education and found an apartment downtown together. Cindy arrived home after a long day of school and Matt asked her, “So should I propose in front of all of your friends?” Cindy responded with an emphatic “No”, knowing that she wanted the proposal to be done privately instead of publicly. He answered, “Okay, then I will do it right now”! A perfect proposal since Matt is proudly a self-proclaimed anti-romantic ;)
